Not another project tunnel. Genbutsu identifies where performance is actually decided, moves the trade-offs that still constrain the system, and produces evidence early.

    Find where performance is decided

    The outcomes your customers expect — and how your system creates or degrades them.

    The work focuses on increasing the system's capacity to meet those expectations. Everything else moves out of scope.

    Shift the trade-offs

    Identify which trade-offs your system still imposes — speed vs robustness, personalisation vs marginal cost — and which can still be moved.

    Architecture, design, data, AI: the answer is often a combination, not one isolated lever. Genbutsu finds the combination that moves the frontier without requiring a full replacement plan.

    Prove before you invest

    Every cycle produces a measurement or a clarification — otherwise the course is revised.

    Critical assumptions are tested early, with the minimum needed. In migrations, Genbutsu tests the new usage model — not the backlog inherited from the existing system.
